The History of Apple

Apple was created in 1976 by Steve Jobs. The first product was a computer and after that it began to be famous.

This might be unbelievable but it's true, Jobs was fired from his own company because he put his head on it but not the money so the chief executive officer, John Sculley, fired him when their visions of the future began to diverge and they fell out. Then Steve created his other two companies Pixar and Next.
Then he was hired again because they realized that they needed him and his great ideas. The funny thing is that they also bought his new company Next.

After that, Apple began to grow and created iTunes, including the movie player, iMovie, and the photographic application, iPhoto.
In 2001, Apple released their first iPod which allowed you to have until 1,000 songs and it was portable so you could take it with you everywhere in your pocket. Even though, in comparison with the ones they have nowadays, it was big and heavy, it was a novelty and a big success. In fact, they became the greatest consumer electronics company on the earth.

Steve Jobs kept working hard as well as his workers to make more great products and be successful, they came up with the iPhone, which was introduced into the Macworld in 2007. Now, their newest product is the iPad.

Is interesting how he went to college and dropped out and created this company which is the best in the world related to electronics devices. A really good thing that they have is that their products improve a lot and are also very elegant, like you can use for example the iPhone without the case because it looks very good, even though is better to use a case for security.

Now, Steve Jobs is dead but I'm sure that all the people that he hired are good workers and also creative, so Apple will keep improving and will make our future lifes better.

How to make your iDevice battery life last longer

Here are some tips you can follow:
  • Keep it out from the sun, don't leave it out in the sun because heat kills batteries faster than anything else.
  • Reduce your screen brightness, being at the maximum wastes a lot of battery and most of the times you don't need it, specially at night. Go to "Settings" and adjust the level of brightness in your screen in "Brightness & Wallpaper"
  • Make the screen lock quick like 2 minutes so when you're not using it, the screen will turn off and won't waste battery. Go to "Settings", in the "General" section head into "Auto-Lock" to set the time of the screen lock.
  • Use Wi-Fi instead of 3G if you can, the iPad battery lasts 10 with Wi-Fi and 9 with 3G, the iPhone 10 with Wi-Fi and 6 with 3G which is a big difference. In "Settings" go to "Wi-Fi" to connect or disconnect.
  • Reduce or eliminate Mail and Calendar checking, if you have a lot of emails and events in your calendar that will consume battery. If you head into "Settings" to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section you can set your fetch of new data manually so when you need it, you do it yourself, or set a time so your iDevice will fetch automatically and will waste more battery.
  • Reduce or eliminate Push Notifications, in "Settings" you can turn off the notifications of all the apps or just the ones you don't need to see what's happening every single moment.
  • Reduce or eliminate the sounds of your apps, you don't need the sounds always so I don't think this is a big effort to do, but it's okay if you don't wanna do it because this will save just a small amount of battery life.
  • Turn off your Location Services in the "General" section as well as the Bluetooth if you don't need it, this will save your battery life.
  • Charge your battery completely and when it's dead make sure you charge it quickly.

iPhone 5 on sale!

People queued around city blocks worldwide just to get the new iPhone 5 that Apple recently released on Friday, September 21st.The smartphone went on sale in stores across Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. Hundreds of people lined up around the block at Apple’s store on New York City’s swanky Fifth Avenue as well as in Apple’s main store in Paris. In London’s central Regent Street, about 1,300 people lined up to buy the iPhone 5, nearly twice as many as showed up for the previous iPhone. In Australia, about 600 people queued around the block at the Apple store in Sydney. In Tokyo, the lines stretched several blocks. The lines, in general, were 70% greater than the one for the iPhone 4S. Apple expected to sell 8 million smartphones over the weekend.

The success is due to the improvement and quality of the product, starting with the size and weight, is way thinner and lighter, has a larger screen, a 4-inch Retina display, an A6 chip, a battery that lasts longer, 8 megapixel iSight camera including the options of panorama and flash.
There are two colors you can choose from: white and silver or black and slate. The cost depends on the capacity so 16GB is $199, 32GB is $299 and 64GB is $399.

Apple's senior vice president of WorldWide Marketing, Philip Schiller stated in an interview with Forbes:

“iPhone 5 is the most beautiful consumer device that we’ve ever created,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “We’ve packed an amazing amount of innovation and advanced technology into a thin and light, jewel-like device with a stunning 4-inch Retina display, blazing fast A6 chip, ultrafast wireless, even longer battery life; and we think customers are going to love it.”(Steve Jobs)

Helping lifes wih inventions

Apple is a well-known American multinational company where Steve Jobs and other workers have created excellent technology products.

Starting in October 2001, Apple created a new style of mp3, lighter, smaller and more elegant that called "iPod", this palm-sized gadget changed the image of music industry. It has a central-scroll wheel on the front and a small window for the screen to select the songs. The first iPod was available in 5GB and 10 GB models and could have up to 1,000 songs.

After this, they created an online music store in 2003, iTunes. A media player and media library application used to play, download, save, and organize digital audio and video on personal computers.

In 2007, the iPhone was released. A smartphone with a multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard rather than a physical. It has Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity (2G, 3G and 4G). This year the launched the iPhone 5, it's getting better an thicker every time.

In 1984 the MAC system software was born. A series of graphical user interface-based operating systems. It's competing against Windows, and I think it's winning. MAC is faster, more elegant, it's hard to get viruses, etc.

The last amazing product is the iPad, which had a huge success. It's even used in education, this Apple product is an important tool in a student routine at school.
The iPad is a tablet computer that as well as the iPhone is a multi-touch screen, with a virtual keyboard, Wi-Fi, cellular connectivity, camera, email, etc.

Jobs has put his energy into massively improving quality of life with all of his inventions. He may not be a charity person as in giving money to NGOs but he benefited so many lives directly (because they've been hired) or indirectly (because they use the products to improve their quality of life).

"Being the richest man in the cementary doesn't matter to me... Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful... That's what matters to me" (Steve Jobs).

Steve Jobs: Successes

The life of Steve Jobs, the career moves and the struggles he had to went through, made him one of the most successful CEO's in the american history, and the man that made a change in the world with his work and his products.

Jobs was born in 1955, San Francisco, California. His parents put him up in adoption with one requirement, that family had to provide him a college education. He grew up in a neighborhood of engineers working on electronics. At the age of thirteen, he met one of the most important persons in his life: Stephen Wozniak, a eighteen-year-old electronic wiz kid and also an incorrigible prankster.

Five years later, Steve Jobs reached college age, but he only spent one semester at Reed College, then he dropped out. He moved to Oregon, to a hippie commune, and what he basically did was cultivate apples. A few months later, he wanted to look for a job and decided to go back to his home state, California. He worked in Atari, a young video game maker. He visited India with one of his college friends and when he came back he realized that he was interested in his friend Woz's new activities.

He wanted to build his own personal computer or writing software. Jobs convinced Wozniak to start a company for that purpose: Apple Computer was born on April 1, 1976. That's how Apple was born, one of the main technology industries at the moment, changed the world for better. He also created Next and Pixar.

This blog will be based upon the life and work of Steve Jobs, interesting facts about him, Apple and technology. He is a good role model to follow because even though he wasn't a very charity person, he said that he preferred helping people by improving the way of living with his products, Jobs opened a new chapter in the world's history. I hope that, through this blog, you will get to know everything you need to know about Steve Jobs and his companies.
